About John
John Kjelstrom is a Managing Director, leading Chatham’s Valuation, Reporting, and Analytics team. This team focuses on debt, asset, and derivative valuation as well as debt management operations and covenant monitoring.
Prior to Chatham, he worked with National Valuation Consultants, leading their real estate advisory services division and with PricewaterhouseCoopers’ Real Estate Business Advisory Group. John has been an active member of the National Council of Real Estate Investment Fiduciaries (NCREIF) since 2008, including as vice-chair of the Valuation Committee (2014–2015) and Committee Chair (2016–2017). John is also the Chair of the NCREIF-PREA Reporting Standards Council, an industry organization aimed at driving transparency and consistency in financial reporting for institutional real estate investors.
John holds a bachelor's degree in finance from the University of Arizona, holds the MAI designation from the Appraisal Institute, and is a member of the Councilors of Real Estate.
